Aqua - Bobbie Whittaker
Bobbie is based in Birmingham, UK. After leaving a career in Environmental Consultancy, she is now a practicing artist with her work being collected internationally.
Bobbie's work is process based and often begins with a feeling or emotion and develops based on her initial mark making. She uses bold colours straight from the tube which she selects in response to a dominant emotion. She often uses natural forms as inspiration for her colours and layering technique, which she completes in oil paint. She likens her unique layering technique to a natural formation process.
Aqua
This artwork draws inspiration from the eye catching hues that happen when brass meets sea water, it'll take on a blue-green colour over time. Bobbie juxtaposes a vivid aqua of the ocean with the richness of metallic oil paints. The result is a composition of colour and texture that calls viewers to explore its the depths.
