The Florence, Edmund Street - Daniel Lopez
Daniel Lopez is a versatile artist who adapts to various media, including ceramics, watercolour, photography, digital, and traditional painting. His work reflects a unique perspective shaped by his experiences in different cities. From his upbringing in Andalusia to his artistic development in Cuenca and Havana, culminating in his current work in Birmingham, Daniel’s artistry is influenced by the vibrant history and dynamic urban landscape of the second city. His current work, with its blend of architectural styles, reflects the city’s evolving character and his fascination with its dramatic contrasts.
“What I find incredible is the UK weather, the weather reflected on the wall, those grey marks, that strong red from the brick, that to me is Birmingham.” Daniel is captivated by Birmingham’s architectural diversity, describing it as “bizarre, eclectic, even exotic” and expresses his love for the city’s dramatic flair: “I absolutely love the drama of Birmingham.”
