Step inside the wonderfully, weird world of InsideOutPants also known as Joel Price.

Joel has an extremely bold, almost surrealist illustrative style that takes the form of incredibly detailed drawings, often containing any number of narratives running throughout. Joel uses his art as social commentary, often with a focus on sub-culture and the more intense and voyeuristic side of society.

He draws his influence from a variety of places; skateboarding and sticker art, fashion, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, and Motown. His artistic influences range from Picasso, Martin Handford, Keith Haring and Robert Crumb.

The Never Ending Fight for Peace

In a striking fusion of repurposed material and mythological grandeur, artist Joel has transformed a mundane cable reel drum into a canvas of conflict and contemplation. His creation, a visceral tableau, draws upon the theatrical intensity of Japanese Kabuki and the timeless tales of Greek mythology to depict a battle that transcends mere violence—it is a struggle for peace.

The scene is a dichotomy of chaos and order, where two monstrous entities clash in a dance of power and purpose. Their forms, complex and commanding, are rendered with a precision that belies the savagery of their encounter. The questions posed are as old as time itself:

- In this whirlwind which creature embodies virtue?

- Amidst the turmoil, who bears the mark of malevolence?

- And ultimately, which force will claim victory in this epic confrontation?

Joel's medium of choice—spray paint, acrylic, liquid gold leaf, and resin—melds with the wheel's surface. The artwork's final touch, a welded steel frame, encases the narrative, providing a stark, industrial contrast.
