Pigeon Park, 2008 - Deluxe Edition - InsideOutPants
Step inside the wonderfully, weird world of InsideOutPants also known as Joel Price.
Joel has an extremely bold, almost surrealist illustrative style that takes the form of incredibly detailed drawings, often containing any number of narratives running throughout. Joel uses his art as social commentary, often with a focus on sub-culture and the more intense and voyeuristic side of society.
He draws his influence from a variety of places; skateboarding and sticker art, fashion, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, and Motown. His artistic influences range from Picasso, Martin Handford, Keith Haring and Robert Crumb.
Pigeon Park, 2008 - Deluxe Edition
In the heart of Birmingham, there lies a patch of green, affectionately dubbed ‘Pigeon Park’ by the locals, but officially known as St Philip’s Cathedral grounds. It’s more than just a park; it’s a living tapestry woven with the threads of countless memories.
Joel’s latest artwork is a tribute to this urban oasis—a place that has cradled the dreams and friendships of the city’s youth. Through his eyes, we see Pigeon Park as a nurturing ground, a cultural crucible where subcultures blossomed and local talents were forged.
His work is a homage to the spirit of camaraderie and creativity that pulses through Birmingham’s veins. It’s an invitation to reminisce, to celebrate, and to keep alive the stories that Pigeon Park has silently witnessed over the years.
